A Say

Media analysis has become a favourite subject of mine, a fascination of sorts, in part, because the whole foundation of my critical thinking was built one hbomberguy video essay at a time (which is to say, it could do with some structural renovation), but predominantly because the act itself occupies a certain niche in my psyche - I require understanding, meaning, answers and solutions. And analysis, despite the very meager results at times, let's me get my grubby hands grab onto some modicum of truth, builds solid ideological ground to stubbornly plant my feet on and make my reality just a tad more bearable.

Of course, I can't deny the presence of another rather pervasive element - I am a human being which thrives on validation, more often than not to my own demise. A kinder interpretation is that I deeply long to express myself, whichever one you feel a stronger relation to really. However I'm largely bereft of opportunities to properly exhude my swirling thoughts on the works of art I enjoy, the honour of which I owe ironically to the same force propelling me in the first place. What I wish to convey about art comes from the heart and is thus heavily loaded with my own social experience, presumptions about others' behaviour and my own personal troubles, which in turn is rarely, if ever, condusive to letting me feel at peace with its outwards expression.

Hopefully this page can act as a simultaneous reprieve and repository for my notes and thoughts on a whole array of different artforms. I've come to the conclusion that, for now at least, I will confide my thoughts in the medium of text.
