I’m oet247¹ and this is my blog.

About me

I was born in a mid-sized bulgarian town which we shall refrain from explicitly naming, but it will be noted that its particular charactersitics are predominantly ones rooted in the double spell of inherently tight social circles and a special kind of bigotry endemic to bulgarian society. Needless to say, these circumstances defined a lot of my life and views on the world.

The crucial event most responsible for nudging me towards my current, and, if it wasn’t already abudantly clear, palpably better (egoistic much?), self was coming upon this little mess of an indie turn based tas fighting game by the name of Your Only Move Is Hustle, which then spiraled both into pouring ungodly amounts of time and effort towards improving and into expanding the horizons of my tiny slice of the world through interacting with people, most of whom I would’ve ordinarly never even had a chance of perceiving as existances in this reality of mine. For that, I am extremely thankful.

However, some mental sediment still persists. I am incredibly sensitive to being perceived, because perception nessecarly precipitates judgement, and even the faint potential of negative sentiment drives me nuts. Bluntly put, it’s scary and off kilter. In that sense, putting out this blog is simultaenously a great triumph in expressing myself and an endeavour veiled in uncertainty, neurotically second guessing every word I type out, ever layout decision, every bit of extreneous information and fluff I include, snugly encapsulated by the 20 mintues of internal argument required to place this photo in the sidebar. What if someone doxxes me, what if people think it's cringe, what if, what if ect ect.

The audience will inevitably consist of a whole spectrum of people - those who know me in real life, those who have interacted with me directly through the internet, and even yet, those who are only learning about my existance for the first time through this blog. Writing in a way that would guarantee me mental tranquility in the potential perception by this incredibly diverse audience is, by my professional estimates, categorically impossible. The line of what I would consider to be comfortable in revealing things about myself has already crossed a critical threshold, thus I’ve decided I might as well earnestly double down and go all the way. I think adressing this metatext² topic has the practical bonus of being a michrocosm of the material I’ll be writing about. This is a source of worry, a topic of analysis and an unseperable part of my self. This is ostensibly me I hope you can take it in with grace.

About my name

There is something I would like to clear up in part for the uninitiated, and in part for myself. I did begin with “I’m oet247”, but you will notice that the Discord account you presumably got this link from is called asensis. Confusing! This obtuse naming is very much on purpose, for reasons that I will try and make clear in a seperate post (which might turn out to be more of a manifesto, but that’s neither here nor there), however I’ll give you the short version here. Asensis was originally my alt account, but due to the “circumstances”, I started using it as both my main Discord account and took a liking to it as a pseudo pen name. Within the YOMI sphere I was (and still am) most widely known as oet247 and my identity on the internet prior to this blog is associated with that name, so for all intents and purposes, I am oet247, and this is what I would prefer to be reffered as. However asensis is a cool name I like so this isn’t oet247’s blog per se. If this is still makes you scratch your head, sorry. Also before even more confusion is induced, my pronouns are he/him.

About the blog

I’ve always wanted to have my own website to put my writing on instead of toiling away in the pits of hell (Google Docs), and a friend of mine (hi lou) inspired me to try with her own website here lou’s blog.

I will try my best to give a one, admitedly very windy, sentence outline of this blog’s intended contents³. The posts will bounce around a variety of different topcis, the main ones being: essays on YOMI Hustle, and getting good at all manners of games in general, but that one is of particularly interest; analysis pieces on media, which if I were to order by estimated descending frequency of output, would be: anime, movies, games, books, manga; and whatever else I feel like writing really. Some of my other interests include - beatboxing, japanese(the language), drawing, table tennis and mathematics.

It might be already too late to mention this, but excuse any grammatical or spelling mistakes on this page and in any of the posts - English is neither my native language, nor do I have someone with enough time on their hands to comb through even a fraction of my deranged writing. If you get annoyed easily by errors of the tongue, proceed with caution past this point, I can not promise your safety, but hopefully you can move past my ineptitude and take the plunge.
